NASHVILLE – Two people in Coffee County have been charged in separate cases with TennCare fraud. 

Knox County Man Charged with TennCare Drug Fraud

NASHVILLE – A Knox County man is charged with TennCare fraud for forging a prescription for pain medication and attempting to have TennCare pay for it.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today announced that 19-year old Brandon L. Byrd has been charged with one count of TennCare fraud and two counts of attempting to acquire a controlled substance by forgery.

Lawrence County Woman Convicted of TennCare Fraud

NASHVILLE – A Lawrence County woman has been sentenced after pleading guilty to TennCare fraud.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today announced that Jacqueline J. Perkins, 48, of Lawrenceburg, pleaded guilty to one count of felony TennCare fraud and two counts of sale of a controlled substance.  

Two People in Dyer County Charged with TennCare Fraud

NASHVILLE – Two people in Dyer County have been charged in separate cases with TennCare fraud.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) with the assistance of the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department today announced the arrests of Shanna M. Wilson, 29, of Ripley, and Donald W. Bennett, 52, of Trimble.

Three Marion County Residents Charged with TennCare Fraud

NASHVILLE – Three Marion County residents are charged with TennCare fraud for reselling prescription medications obtained through TennCare.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrest of Loretta J. Thacker, 44, Betty J. Privett, 29, and Amos J. Brown, 36, all from Whitwell.

Sevier County Woman Must Repay State After TennCare Fraud Conviction

NASHVILLE – A Sevier County woman accused of TennCare fraud has pleaded guilty to charges in Sevierville.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today announced that Amy Jo Smith, 34, must repay the state for $24,386.95 in TennCare benefits received while she was fraudulently enrolled in the program.

Knox County Woman Charged with TennCare Fraud

NASHVILLE – A Knox County woman is accused of TennCare fraud for using TennCare to pay for altered prescriptions.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrest of 31-year old Barbara Perkey of Knoxville. She was indicted on five counts of TennCare fraud and five counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

NASHVILLE – A Knox County man has been charged with using TennCare to pay for fraudulent prescription drugs.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today announced the arrest of Joshua R. Shell, 21, of Knoxville.  The arrest was a joint effort with the Knox County and the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Cheatham County Man Charged with TennCare Fraud, Identity Theft

 

NASHVILLE – A Cheatham County man has been charged in Montgomery County with stealing the identity of a TennCare enrollee in order to obtain medical services using TennCare as payment.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today announced the arrest of Jackie L. Walden, 53, of Chapmansboro.  This arrest was a joint effort with the Montgomery County and the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office.

Four Charged with TennCare Fraud in Unicoi, Cannon Counties

NASHVILLE – Four people are charged with TennCare fraud in separate cases stretching from Woodbury to Erwin, Tennessee.
