BOPP Schedules Seminar in Knox County to Address Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Addiction Issues

NASHVILLE --- The Board of Probation and Parole is conducting a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and addiction seminar for the public and offenders under BOPP supervision. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, at 9:30am EST at the Family Investment Center, 400 Harriet Tubman Street, in Knoxville. It will feature Tonier Cain of Maryland, who will share her story of trauma, addiction, survival and triumph.

Operation Compliance: BOPP Restricts Sex Offenders during Halloween Season

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Board of Probation & Parole has issued restrictions prohibiting the sex offenders it supervises from taking part in Halloween activities. Every state-supervised sex offender in Tennessee has received a letter detailing the restrictions, which apply to any Halloween celebration, festival or other fall/harvest activity.

BOPP Relocates Jackson Office

NASHVILLE --- The Board of Probation and Parole has moved its Jackson office from downtown to a more convenient location. The new office is at 1661 Hollywood Drive, near the Highway 45 bypass.  The agency is having an open house this afternoon from 2:00-4:00 to introduce the community to the new facility.

BOPP Honors Career of Danny McGinnis

NASHVILLE --- The Board of Probation and Parole today honored a recently retired employee who made major contributions to the agency’s progress and the criminal justice profession over the past 30-plus years. Howard “Danny” McGinnis was District Director for BOPP’s 1st District from 1999 until his retirement in August.
