Governor Haslam, Commissioner Hagerty Announce TFEMC Staff

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty announced key appointments today to the Tennessee Film Entertainment and Music Commission (TFEMC). 
 
Bob Raines, who was most recently serving as interim executive director, is now the executive director. Music industry veteran Hank Adam Locklin will fill the newly created role of director of music and business development.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty today announced board appointments for the Tennessee Film, Entertainment & Music Commission (TFEMC).  The TFEMC board represents entertainment industries across the state in music, film and television. 

“This distinguished group of industry professionals brings broad experience and unique perspectives to the board and will help us continue to grow Tennessee’s entertainment industry,” Haslam said. “I’m excited to welcome them, and I appreciate their commitment and willingness to serve as we attempt to expand on the incredible industry talent and infrastructure already in place.”

NASHVILLE - Early this morning, nominees for the 83rd Academy Awards® were announced by the The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.  Tennessee has ties to three of the nominations.

The project was filmed in Tennessee and stars Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow, country music superstar Tim McGraw, Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) and Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy, Friday Night Lights).

Three songs from TN films eligible for 83rd Academy Awards®

NASHVILLE - Of the forty-one songs in contention for a nomination for the 83rd Academy Awards® Original Song category, two films shot in Tennessee represent three of those songs.  Both projects participated in the Tennessee Film/TV Incentive Program and utilized Tennessee music, facilities and talent.  The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the potential nominees last week.

Production Directory access interrupted by power outage

Access to the Tennessee Production Directory, which provides online access to Tennessee's film/tv industry professionals and resources state-wide, was interrupted by the power outage at the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower that occurred on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.   State workers were evacuated after a sprinkler system pipe burst and impacted power in the buildings.
