Tennessee's Wild Side Receives ACI Award As Nation's Top Outdoor Television Series

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee’s Wild Side has been named as the best outdoors television series in the country by the Association of Conservation Information, Inc. (ACI).
 
It marks the second time that the weekly 30-minute program received ACI’s top outdoors show award, the previous first place honor coming in 2005. Tennessee’s Wild Side is produced in partnership by TWRA and the Renaissance Center in Dickson.
 
The 30-minute program features the diversity of the outdoors. Tennessee’s Wild Side competed against similar shows from across the country. The announcement of the top award came at the ACI Conference which was held this year in Baton Rouge, La.

TWRA to Present Sportsfishing Changes for 2010

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) Fisheries Division has announced its proposed 2010 sportfishing regulation changes that will be presented to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission at its October meeting.

TWRA Approves 2009-10 Waterfowl Seasons at August Meeting

BUCHANAN --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission has passed a 60-day season for 2009-10 duck hunting, with one split similar to past years, that will end Jan. 31, 2010 and have a 6-duck bag limit. The approval was made during the August meeting of the TWRC which was held at Paris Landing State Park.

TWRA Working to Correct Quota Hunt Application Process

NASHVILLE --- It became evident early this morning that the new first come first serve quota application process for fall turkey and deer hunts was encountering problems across the state at many license agents. One of the primary problems arose because of a conflict between the printed application county code numbers and the corresponding numbers within the Point of Sale (POS) system. Sales on the internet appear to be processing as they should.

Tennessee's 2009 Free Hunting Day Set for August 22

NASHVILLE --- All Tennesseans are reminded that Saturday, Aug. 22 is Free Hunting Day in Tennessee when state residents may hunt without a license. The annual event coincides with the opening day of squirrel season. 

August TWRC Meeting to Be Held at Paris Landing State Park

TWRA Announces Changes in Statewide Special Season Deer and Fall Turkey Quota Hunts Systems

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has announced a significant change in the statewide special season antlerless deer and fall turkey quota hunts this year.

The statewide special season antlerless deer and fall turkey quota hunts will become a first come, first served system, a shift from the traditional drawn quota hunt. There will still be a quota for each hunt, but instead of applying and being drawn or not drawn, hunters will be able to get their permits immediately. Below are critical dates and information about this change.
