Nashville, Tennessee — A Tennessee State Trooper stopped an 18-wheeler reported stolen out of Houston, Texas, Wednesday afternoon and ended up seizing approximately 142 pounds of marijuana in eight large bundles.

New Robertson County Driver License Station Opens

NASHVILLE, Tenn., — The Department of Safety has opened a new Driver License Station at 4676 Highway 41 North, Suite C, in Springfield . The station is the sixth new driver license station to open in Tennessee this year to provide more convenient service to citizens across the state. The other stations are in Fayette, Fentress, Hamilton , Obion, Rutherford and Shelby Counties .

THP Helps Holiday Travelers Get Home Safe For Christmas

NASHVILLE, Tenn., — Safe travel for motorists is the goal of the Tennessee Highway Patrol during this weekend’s Christmas holiday, Friday, December 22nd through Monday, December 25th.  In 2005, six people died in six separate single vehicle crashes on Tennessee roads during the Christmas travel period.  Two of the fatalities last year occurred in alcohol-related crashes.

New Shelby County Driver License Station Open

NASHVILLE, Tenn., — The Department of Safety has opened a new Driver License Station at 2714 Union Avenue Extended, in midtown Memphis.  The station is in an office building at the corner of Union Avenue Extended and Poplar Avenue.  It began serving customers this morning.  It is one of seven new stations that are opening across the state.  The other locations are in Fayette, Fentress, Hamilton, Obion, Robertson and Rutherford Counties.

Safety Department Opens New Reinstatement Office

NASHVILLE, Tenn., — The Department of Safety has opened a new Driver License Reinstatement Office Station at 306 Home Avenue in Maryville.  The Reinstatement Office, which began serving customers on Monday, December 11th, is one of three across the state and is the first office dedicated to reinstatement in eastern Tennessee.  The two other locations are in Memphis and Nashville.  The new office is open from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
