NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will deliver the “Between the Barrels” presentation to 500 high school students at Portland High School in Sumner County, Tuesday, December 2, 2008. The safe driving program is geared to students who are just learning to drive to reduce the chances of being involved in a dangerous work zone crash.

NASHVILLE - As Thanksgiving holiday travelers prepare to hit the road, the Tennessee Highway Patrol is providing an extra incentive to buckle-up, obey posted speed limits signs and stay sober. State Troopers will be out in force and will conduct more than 50 sobriety and driver license checkpoints statewide.
The 2008 Thanksgiving holiday period begins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26th and runs through midnight Sunday, November 30th.

NASHVILLE --- Members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol will be participating in the 8th Annual Project Blue Light Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 22. The event is hosted by Middle and East Tennessee chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and is a time for the community to come together to honor law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line everyday to protect the public.
