NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will deliver the “Between the Barrels” presentation to 500 high school students at Portland High School in Sumner County, Tuesday, December 2, 2008. The safe driving program is geared to students who are just learning to drive to reduce the chances of being involved in a dangerous work zone crash.

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will deliver the “Between the Barrels” presentation to 250 high school students at Sycamore High School, in Cheatham County, Tuesday, November 25, 2008. The safe driving program is geared to students who are just learning to drive to reduce the chances of being involved in a dangerous work zone crash.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper stops motorist

NASHVILLE - As Thanksgiving holiday travelers prepare to hit the road, the Tennessee Highway Patrol is providing an extra incentive to buckle-up, obey posted speed limits signs and stay sober. State Troopers will be out in force and will conduct more than 50 sobriety and driver license checkpoints statewide. 

The 2008 Thanksgiving holiday period begins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26^th and runs through midnight Sunday, November 30^th.

Station Will be Closed Thursday and Friday

NASHVILLE --- Members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol will be participating in the 8^th Annual Project Blue Light Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 22. The event is hosted by Middle and East Tennessee chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and is a time for the community to come together to honor law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line everyday to protect the public. It is also a time to remember fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice for their communities.

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee Highway Patrol Investigators are looking for the driver of a small pick-up truck who may have been in the area of a school bus crash that happened Wednesday afternoon in Marion County.

NASHVILLE ---   The Tennessee Department of Safety is hosting an Open House at its new Driver Services Center in Greene County, Friday, November 14, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Safety Commissioner Dave Mitchell and Deputy Commissioner Greta Dajani invite the public to come and visit the new, larger facility, which is located at 1210 Hal Henard Road, Greeneville, Tennessee.
