Former Madison County Businessman Arrested on Charges of Sales Tax Evasion and Theft

Jackson, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of Mutee Hussein Fadah, age 39, of Madison County, on Sept. 16, 2009. Fadah, the former owner of J Mart, located at 1625 E. Chester Street, was arrested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department on two counts of failure to pay sales tax and one count of theft of property. 

Former Greene County Businesswoman Pleads Guilty to Sales Tax Evasion

GREENEVILLE, Tenn.– The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to yesterday’s guilty plea by Porshia Pauline Cutshaw, age 57, former owner of The Tobacco Barn.

Davidson County Man Found Guilty of Sales Tax Evasion and Forgery

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to yesterday’s guilty verdict by a Sumner County jury of Keith A. Howard, age 41, on a Class E felony count of Sales Tax Evasion and a Class E felony count of Forgery. Howard faces sentencing on Oct. 16, 2009, for filing false and fraudulent documents with the Sumner County Clerk’s office that intentionally understated the purchase price of a Prevost bus he registered. Howard provided documents to the clerk’s office representing the purchase price as $62,500. The actual purchase price was $625,000.

Former Shelby County Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Theft and Sales Tax Evasion

MEMPHIS - The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to the Aug. 31, 2009 guilty plea by Robert H. Geerdes, age 69, former owner of Colonial Register Service.

Davidson County Business Owner Surrenders on Theft Charge

NASHVILLE – The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the surrender of Iyaed I. Afifa, age 42, co-owner of Zack’s #4 Phillips 66 in Old Hickory, Tenn. Afifa surrendered himself on Aug. 21, 2009 and  was booked into the Nashville Davidson County Jail. Afifa was charged with theft of property over $10,000. Bond was set at $1,000.

Shelby County Business Owner Arrested on Tax Evasion Charges

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of Kevin D. Johnson, age 42, owner of K’Jay’s Liquors in Memphis, Tenn. Johnson was arrested yesterday by deputies of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department. Johnson was charged with theft of property over $10,000 and tax evasion. Bond was set at $10,000.

Former Cheatham County Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Sales Tax Evasion

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to yesterday’s guilty plea by Madget A. Tidwell, age 49, past owner of Pizza Pro formerly located at 149 Dillard Court, Suite C in Kingston Springs.
