MEMPHIS- The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to the Feb. 5 arrest of Yousef Salim, owner of Stereo Sound USA, on charges of theft, sales tax fraud, and fabricating evidence.

Former Washington County Businessman Arrested on Sales Tax Evasion Charges

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Kevin Lee Hubbs, age 47, surrendered himself to Washington County Sheriff’s officials on Wednesday, Feb. 3, on sales tax evasion charges. The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Hubbs’ indictment and subsequent surrender. Hubbs is the former owner of Mobile Tech “On-Site” Vehicle Maintenance, located in Johnson City, Tenn. Bond was set at $39,000.

Former Washington County Businesswoman Arrested on Sales Tax Evasion Charges

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and subsequent arrest of Christa Dawn Hess, age 38, for sales tax fraud. On Jan. 27, Hess, former owner of Stop-N-Go/Gas Haus, located in Johnson City, Tenn., was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

MEMPHIS - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to yesterday’s sentencing of John Bradshaw, owner of Just Beepers located in Memphis, Tenn., on one count of Theft Over $60,000, a violation of Tenn. Code Ann. Section 39-14-103, a Class B felony, and one count of Sales Tax Evasion, a violation of Tenn. Code Ann. Section 67-1-1440(g), a Class E felony.

NASHVILLE- Online business tax filing is now available through the Tennessee Department of Revenue's Web site at https://www.tennesseeanytime.org/biztax/. The Department's convenient online tax filing and payment options allow taxpayers to submit their tax return information, make payments and receive confirmation of such filing and/or payment in just minutes. Business tax Classifications 1 and 5 that have business tax returns due February 28, 2010, are encouraged to use this option to file their tax return.

Harrogate Resident Surrenders To Authorities on Sales Tax Evasion Charges

HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to yesterday’s surrender of Gary Douglas Lee on tax evasion charges. Lee, age 47, turned himself in to Claiborne County Justice Center officials. Bond was set at $2,500.
