BOLIVAR, Tenn. - The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to the June 24 arrest of Samir O. Issa., age 36. Issa is the former co-owner of N&S Market and Deli, Inc., located at 1505 W. Market Street in Bolivar.

MEMPHIS - The Tennessee Department of Revenue will hold its next free bimonthly new business workshop on July 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Renaissance Business Center, located at 555 Beale Street. The workshop will be held in the Memphis Training Room.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and subsequent arrest of Wendell Price, Jr., age 41. Price is the former co-owner and chef of Wendell’s World Beat Grill, located at 414 South Main Street in Memphis.

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - The Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to the sentencing of Gonzalo Alverez Moralez, president of Ornelas, Inc., dba La Carreta Mexican Restaurant located at 5494 Bobby Hicks Highway in Gray, Tenn.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue will be conducting roadside diesel fuel compliance checks in Knox County during daylight hours on Wednesday, May 20. Internal Revenue Service fuel compliance officers often participate in these checks and may be present at this location.

 BOLIVAR, Tenn. -The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to the guilty plea of Maher Quran, age 43, owner of the Middleton Pit Stop. Quran pled guilty to four counts of Sales Tax Evasion, a violation of Tenn. Code Ann. Section 67-1-1440(g), a Class E felony. The counts charged that between March 2003 and November 2004, Quran attempted to evade tax due the state.
