NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen has proclaimed April 13-19 Tennessee State Natural Areas Week, and Tennesseans are encouraged to join in a weeklong celebration with activities such as wildflower hikes, guided tours and volunteer stewardship efforts.

Price does not include drink, tax or gratuity. Special prices for kids and seniors over 62 are available. The Easter Buffet will be available beginning at 11:00 a.m. until closing at state park restaurants across Tennessee.
NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Historical Commission has announced seven Tennessee sites have been added to the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register of Historic Places is the nation’s official list of cultural resources worthy of preservation. It is part of a nationwide program that coordinates and supports efforts to identify, evaluate and protect historic resources. The Tennessee Historical Commission administers the program in Tennessee.
NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation will hold a series of public meetings in April to discuss the Tennessee Recreation Plan, which identifies opportunities for statewide recreation. The public is invited to attend and provide input about the plan.
NASHVILLE –Department of Environment and Conservation Commissioner Jim Fyke today announced a $2,500 Waste Tire Cleanup Grant for Sullivan County. This grant will fund the cleanup of tires dumped on Paperville Road in Bristol, Tenn.

LEXINGTON, Tenn. - Environment and Conservation Commissioner Jim Fyke will participate in an environmental recognition ceremony at the Volvo Penta Marine Products facility in Lexington, Tenn. on Tuesday, March 24, at 1 p.m. The facility, located at 200 Robert Wallace Drive, will be honored for achieving Performer Level status in the Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership environmental leadership program.
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - Environment and Conservation Commissioner Jim Fyke will participate in an environmental recognition ceremony honoring the Babcock and Wilcox Company’s Y-12 operation in Oak Ridge, Tenn. on Tuesday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at Y-12’s New Hope Center on 602 Scarboro Road. The ceremony will recognize B&W Y-12 for achieving Performer Level status in the Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership environmental leadership program.
