Event Set for Monday, November 10, at War Memorial Plaza
NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen will host an event to honor Tennessee’s veterans working in state government on Monday, November 10, at the War Memorial Plaza in Nashville. The event will take place at 1:30 p.m. Central Time. The observance honors veterans who have served in every conflict since the nation’s founding, as well as the service of soldiers currently serving at home and abroad.
Bredesen will be joined by Commissioner John Keys of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Major General Gus Hargett, Adjutant General of Tennessee, and Commissioner Deborah Story of the Department of Human Resources. The Veterans Day commemoration is taking place the day before the official state holiday to allow state employees and members of the public to attend.
