NASHVILLE- The Tennessee Athletic Commission, which regulates professional non-armed combat sporting events and approves sanctioning bodies of the amateur variety within the state, will enact a permit requirement, effective May 31.
Event promoters or organizers wishing to stage an event in Tennessee will need to apply for a permit with the Athletic Commission at least 30 days prior to the desired event date. The cost of the permit will be $50. The Athletic Commission has voted to not enforce penalties for not having a permit until July 1. The requirement is tied to rules (0145-05-.03) of the Tennessee Athletic Commission that were drawn up in January.
